Introduction
Passprint ("Passprint," "we," "us," or "our") provides studio-grade software for passport and ID photo processing, layout editing, and print-ready export. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information when you create an account, upload photos, purchase a plan or credits, or contact support.
By using Passprint, you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the service. For contractual terms governing subscriptions, credits, and acceptable use, see our Terms & Conditions.
Information we collect
We collect only what is needed to operate the service. Categories include:
- Account & profile data: Email address, display name, studio or business name, and preferences you save in Settings.
- Photos & processing inputs: Images and documents you upload for background removal, ICAO-compliant framing, adjustment, and layout export.
- Billing & subscription data: Plan tier, credit balance, invoice references, payment status, and transaction identifiers. Payment instruments are processed by Razorpay; we do not store full card numbers, UPI PINs, or net-banking passwords.
- Support & communications: Messages, attachments, and metadata when you contact us or open a support ticket.
- Technical & usage data: Browser type, device category, approximate location derived from IP address, session identifiers, error logs, and feature usage needed for security and reliability.
You choose what to upload. Do not submit photos or personal data you are not authorised to process, especially when working with client portraits in a studio environment.
How we use information
We use personal information for legitimate business purposes, including to:
- Authenticate your account and maintain secure sessions.
- Run AI-assisted background removal, face detection, compliance framing, and layout export.
- Apply your plan limits, credit deductions, refunds for failed processing, and subscription renewals.
- Generate invoices, payment confirmations, and account notifications.
- Respond to support requests and investigate misuse, fraud, or technical incidents.
- Improve product performance, fix bugs, and develop features that studios rely on.
- Comply with applicable law, enforce our terms, and protect the rights of users and third parties.
We do not use your uploaded photos to train public or third-party AI models for unrelated purposes. Processing is performed to deliver the Passprint workflow you request.
AI processing
Passprint is an AI-based passport photo service. Uploaded photos are processed automatically using AI models for background removal, passport framing, and compliance checks.
No human manually reviews uploaded photos unless required for technical support, fraud prevention, or a request you initiate with our support team.
AI outputs are generated to deliver the workflow you request. We do not use your uploads to train unrelated public or third-party models.
Photo & session data
Server-side processing
Uploaded images may be processed on secure infrastructure to remove backgrounds, detect facial landmarks, apply country-specific sizing rules, and produce print-ready layouts. Processed outputs and job metadata may be stored in your account history for reprint and editing within your plan limits.
Device-side session data
To keep your workflow fast, parts of an active session (such as layout state or in-progress edits) may be stored in your browser using local storage or IndexedDB. This data stays on your device until you sign out, clear site data, or complete the session.
Automatic cleanup
Expired job records and associated stored files are removed automatically when they pass your plan retention window. A scheduled cleanup process also purges expired records from our database and linked storage.
Retention schedule
Retention periods depend on data type and your subscription plan. The table below reflects currentPassprint defaults:
When retention expires, we delete or de-identify data where feasible. Backups may persist for a limited period before being overwritten in the ordinary course of operations.
Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organisational measures designed to protect personal information, including:
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for data in transit.
- Role-based access controls for internal systems.
- Secure authentication and session management.
- Monitoring for abuse, failed login attempts, and anomalous activity.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, change your password promptly and contact support@passprint.in.
